A Healthy Picnic at Grandma’s!
Un Picnic Sano a Nonna!
by Emily Peters

Today I decide to go to my grandparent's house.
Oggi ho deciso di andare a casa di miei nonni.

It is nice out, so we decide to have a picnic.

I decide to go to the pantry and see what we can make.
Decido di andare in dispensa e vedere cosa possiamo fare.

I decide to put fruit in the basket instead of a sugary sweet.

My goal is to have 2 different fruits with lunch.

I decide on apples and strawberries.
Decido di mele e fragole.

I make a goal to cut up the apple as grandpa makes the sandwiches.

I communicate to grandpa that I want turkey and cheese on my sandwich.

I decide to pour 3 glasses of water, so that we stay hydrated while we are outside.
Vi decido versare 3 bicchieri d'acqua, in modo da rimanere idratati, mentre siamo fuori.

We decide to make the salad together.
Facciamo l'insalata insieme.

We pack up our picnic lunch, and I set a goal to carry it in my arms.

I communicate to my mom that I love healthy picnics at grandma’s house!

Italian translations were verified by Chiara Kupiec, a native Italian speaker and teacher at Ridge High School in Ohio, 2014.
