Food Safety Decisions in my Kitchen

I decide to wash my hands before handling any food in
the kitchen to make sure they are clean.
Me decido a lavar mis manos antes de manipular cualquier alimento en la cocina para asegurarse de que están limpios.

I decide to wipe down the surfaces before and often
while preparing food to avoid bacterial growth.
Yo me pongo a limpiar las superficies antes y a menudo mientras prepara la comida para evitar la proliferación de bacterias.

I decide to avoid cross contamination by using different
cutting boards for different food.

I decide to keep raw meats and fish away from other
foods, especially those that won’t be cooked.

I decide to wash all produce in the sink before using it,
even if it looks clean to get rid of microorganisms.

I decide to thaw frozen meats in a refrigerator, or in a
microwave oven, or under cool running water to keep

I decide to cook all foods to their proper temperatures

Prevent food from being contaminated.
Separate raw and cooked foods to prevent contaminating the cooked foods.
Cook foods to the appropriate length of time and temperature.
Store food properly.
