Getting Ready for Game Day
By Missy Lipschutz and Leslee Brandon

Hi! My name is Mike.
I am in third grade, and I love to play sports.
While playing sports, I have to make good decisions.
These is some of my team mates.
We play football together.
We make sure to play as team
because teamwork is important and helps us win games.
It’s the night before the big game.
I go to bed early to get a good night sleep
before our game instead of staying up late.
We want to get a good night sleep so we can perform at our best tomorrow.
When I wake up in the morning, I go brush my teeth and wash my face.
Our sense of touch helps us complete all these tasks.
As I am getting ready, I can always smell the breakfast being cooked downstairs.
Then I get dressed and go eat a tasty balanced breakfast.
I would rather have eggs instead of a pop-tart that is full of sugar.
It also helps keep me healthy and strong.
Now it’s time to get ready for the game.
It’s important to make sure you have all the appropriate pads so you don’t get hurt.
After everyone is ready, we all carpool together to the game.
When we get there, we make sure to warm up together as a team.
We run a couple laps, and do some stretches to make sure our body is ready for the game.
Then its finally time to play the game!
While playing the game its important to see everything that’s going on around you so you don’t get hurt.
We make sure to play as a team so we are always looking out for each other.
After the game we have a team meeting.
We talk about all the things we did well and areas that we need to work on.
We listen to our coach because it’s important to hear what they have to say.
Then after our meeting we have a team snack.
It’s important to eat a healthy snack to rejuvenate your energy.
