Time to Play
by Bryn Dyar & Elizabeth Beyersdorfer

Ring! The bell rings for recess.
Now is it time to play!

What should we choose to play today?

We could play soccer! We use our feet to kick the ball.
We could play tag! We use our legs to run fast and chase our friends!

We could play tetherball! We use our hands to throw the ball around the pole!
We could play with a jump rope! We use our arms to swing the rope and our feet to jump!

We could play the game Red Light Green Light! We use our ears to listen for the words “stop” or “go”!
We could swing on the swings! Our friends use their muscles to push us high towards the sky!

We could play tennis! We use our arms and elbows to swing the tennis racket at the ball!
We could play with chalk! We use our fingers to draw pretty pictures on the ground!

There are so many fun things to do at recess!
What do you choose?
