Realistic and authentic photographs of active people model how to practice cognitive-motor skills leading to healthy behaviors and a higher quality of life. Bilingual story lines encourage people of all cultural backgrounds to interact and speak with others to promote healthy living in a variety of situations and environments. <text>My First Day of School
Mon Premier Jour d’ École
By Katie Cole and Mary Getschmann

Tomorrow is my first day of school. I am setting goals so that I will have a good year.

The night before my first day, I will get 10 hours of sleep.

When I wake up in the morning, I will brush my teeth for 2 minutes and wash my face.
Quand je me réveillerai au matin, je me brosserai les dents pendant deux minutes et se laverai mon visage.

For breakfast, I will have 1 cup of cereal, 1 banana, and 8 ounces of milk.

I am going to introduce myself to my teacher and talk to 3 new friends.
Je me présenterai à mon professeur et parlerai à trois nouveaux amis.

At recess, I want to run and play tag with my friends for 20 minutes.

When I walk home, I will follow the 3 hand signals by using my eyes and ears to stop, look, and listen.

For my snack, I will drink 1 glass of milk and have celery with peanut butter.

After snack, I want to relax by reading a book for 15 minutes.

When my Dad gets home, we will toss the baseball until dinner at 6 pm.

My family and I will sit down to eat dinner. I will share my 10 goals with them!

Because of the 10 goals I have set and will reach, I will have a great year!
