Realistic and authentic photographs of active people model how to practice cognitive-motor skills leading to healthy behaviors and a higher quality of life. Bilingual story lines encourage people of all cultural backgrounds to interact and speak with others to promote healthy living in a variety of situations and environments. Electronic Texts for Health Literacy© demonstrate and promote the ongoing development of oral language, written language, and body language integration through Habits of Health and Habits of Mind (Ubbes, 2008).</text>

by Melissa Hamlet and Brandhi Russo

During the summer (verano), I exercise my arms (brazos) as I practice my swimming.
I decide to walk (caminar) my dog (perro) around the neighborhood with an adult so I stay safe.

I like to go to the park (parque) and play on the monkey bars and pump my legs on the swings.
The weather (tiempo) starts to get cooler so I decide to wear long pants (pantalones) on my legs as fall arrives.

I use my arms (brazos) to rake leaves (hojas) into piles.
Then I bend my knees (rodillas) to jump (saltar) in the large piles.

Fall turns into Winter (invierno) so it’s time to put my coat (abrigo) on my body, scarf (bufanda) around my neck, and gloves (guantes) on my hands (manos).
The snow (nieve) falls so I decide (decidio) to cover my head (cabeza) with a hat and go sledding.

I use my arms (brazos) and legs (piernas) to make pretty snow angels.
When rain (lluvia) falls in the Spring (primavera), I like to bend my knees (rodillas) to jump in puddles.

I use my feet (pies) to push (empujar) the pedals as I ride my bike (bicicleta).
I use my legs (piernas) to run (correr) from base to base after I hit a home run.

I can make good (bueno) decisions (deciciones) for health (salud) during each season (estacion).
